Male Pattern Baldness and its Causes

Male population is largely affected with hair loss, otherwise known as male pattern baldness. First symptom that appears is thinner hair. It is a concern of many people, but the good news is that the latest inventions and technologies allow finding different methods for hair regrowth for men, but before you start looking for solutions, try to understand the causes of baldness.

This type of condition is caused by male hormones when the hair follicles convert testosterone into another hormone called dihydrotestosterone. Hair follicles become more sensitive to dihydrotestosterone, causing the hair follicles to shrink. Male-pattern baldness is genetically determine and this type of baldness is also known by the name androgenic alopecia, which is inherited sensitivity to the effects of androgens (male hormones) on scalp hair follicles which causes them to shrink and prevents them from producing hair normally.

Individuals in post pubertal period affected with this condition experience miniaturizing of the hair follicles, particularly on the scalp center and over the temple. After that period there are usually lots of small, fine hairs that begin to grow. This occurs due to the metabolism of testosterone by an enzyme in the hair follicle. Hair follicles over the ears and around the posterior of the scalp do not possess this enzyme so a fringe of normal hair is maintained.

Influence of androgens causes follicles in the temporal, frontal and vertex area of the scalp to show a shortening of the Anagen phase, followed by miniaturization of the hair follicles. It affects the percentage of hairs in Anagen phase and the duration of Anagen diminishes in areas affected by Androgenetic alopecia which results in shorter hairs. It is also known by the term "Hippocratic balding" and it may sometimes progress to complete baldness.

Besides this condition, there is also alopecia areata that causes hair loss only in some areas of the head. There are also severe forms of the condition, which cause hair loss from the whole head. This condition is called alopecia totalis and there is the most extreme form that includes complete hair loss from the entire body - alopecia universalis.

There are two approved male pattern baldness treatments: minoxidil and finasteride. Minoxidil is a solution that you apply directly to the scalp to stimulate the hair follicles. It also slows hair loss for many men, and some men grow new hair. Hair loss returns when you stop using this medicine. Finasteride is a pill that interferes with the production of a certain male hormone linked to baldness. It slows hair loss, but hair loss returns when you stop using this medicine.

The purpose of using these treatments is not just to initiate hair growth, but also to stop further hair falling. Doctors say that it is easier to maintain remaining hair than to regrow them, which leads to the importance of prevention. Watch what you eat, drink plenty of water in order for nutrients to spread and avoid smoking and other bad habits.

The use of natural hair care products alone can promote healthy growth of the hair. Hair roots are actually alive and just as like any other organs found in our body, they require nourishment in order to sustain their normal functioning. Natural hair products that are utilized to promote total health of the hair are virtually free of any side effects

The Most Frequent Causes Of Hair Loss And Male Pattern Baldness

Many people experience hair loss due to many different reasons. It can be caused by many different things like heredity or everyday stress, inadequate nutrition or the hair style that can damage your hair follicles. The doctor determines the treatment depending on the cause. The condition of the patient can be improved with changes in nutrition, by adding certain vitamins that can help to initiate hair growth or by changing hair style in order to avoid any further damages. This condition is also known as alopecia and it can sometimes progress to complete baldness and even complete loss of body hair. In that case the condition is known by the name alopecia totalis and alopecia universalis. The hair loss tends to be rapid and asymmetrical and it differs from male pattern baldness.

Your everyday nutrition should contain enough vitamins and minerals necessary for hair growth. If your immune system gets weaker than usual you will probably notice increased hair loss. The condition you are in can significantly improve with consuming groceries full of vitamins, because it will stop hair loss and initiate growth of new hair. Include food high in B-vitamins and iron like whole grains, dark leafy greens, sea vegetables, antioxidant foods, fruits such as blueberries, cherries, and tomatoes because they may help you achieve this goal. Avoid potential food allergens like dairy, gluten, corn, soy, preservatives, and food additives since it may reduce the symptoms.

The triggers that usually cause hair loss are increased physical and emotional stress or high fever. It causes the transition of hairs from anagen to telogen phase. Telogen Effluvium is a condition caused by a systemic shock to the body and it can involve using birth control pills or a surgery. Individuals usually notice the hair loss about three months after it's triggered, so many times it is not possible to know for sure what was the reason of hair loss. The treatments differ depending on the condition and the type of hair loss. Many people choose natural ones, because there are no side-effects, so they are safe for use. Before making this decision, take all the facts into consideration, including differences of hair loss types and the degree of hair loss. You shouldn't make this decision yourself, but ask for a professional opinion about it.

Male population is usually affected with male pattern baldness. Factors that can cause hair loss besides genetics are side effects from medications, hormones, stress and diseases. A doctor can run all of the necessary tests to figure out if there is a serious medical condition that could be contributing to your hair loss. Thinner hair is usually the first symptom of male pattern baldness. This condition is basically a state when hair starts to fall where they normally grow and it is otherwise called androgenic alopecia. This is maybe the most common type of baldness and it usually affects adult males. It can be manifested in different forms.

Factors That Can Cause Alopecia Totalis

Factors That Can Cause Alopecia Totalis
Alopecia Areata is the condition when hairs starts to fall out and forms into small patches usually on the scalp. It is rarely associated with any other external or internal medical problems. Most often these bald areas regrow their hair spontaneously. It is rare before the age of 3. There seems to be a significant tendency to inherit alopecia areata. Alopecia Totalis is total hair loss from the scalp. Alopecia Universalis is the most severe case and this is hair loss from the scalp, eyebrows, body and hands. About half of all people affected will grow their hair back within a year without getting any treatment. However, the condition can reoccur at any time.
If you feel that you are encountering Alopecia Totalis or any of the other Alopecia conditions, you should consult with specialists, research the issue and even arrange to see a dermatologist. This will help you to understand your condition and also know that you are taking pro-active steps to make the best of the situation. Once the hair loss starts, it can be a very hard to deal with but if you have an insight into what to expect it may in some cases lessen the stress levels. People will be affected by the onset of Alopecia Totalis in different ways: some will be very pragmatic and accept that they have the condition and try not to allow it to change their life, whilst others will look for solutions or alopecia treatments and try to find ways to combat the condition.
The main cause of alopecia totalis, like all alopecia cases, is still not defined at this point. There are several factors, however, which are being considered to be the cause of this condition. Experts and scientists have pointed out various factors, most of them revolving around genetics. Men are mostly affected with this condition, all because of high amounts of androgens present in their body. Androgens such as testosterone are considered to be a major factor in the progress of this condition.
There are also researches that show that this condition is caused by autoimmune disorders, a condition wherein the immune system becomes so active that it starts destroying the normal cells and tissue present in the body. When this happens, hair follicles die, causing hair strands to fall off. Alopecia can also be caused by deliberate measures, such as a side effect of chemotherapy and other drugs which react to fast-acting cells.

How to Treat Alopecia Barbae

How to Treat Alopecia Barbae
Form of Alopecia Areata that affects only male population is called Areata Barbae . It appears in a form of bald patches on the beard. It can be very stressful, especially for people who have their beard and consider it to be a part of their personal image. Seeing patches of hair missing can be a shocking experience. The main concern of the men affected is how they are going to be perceived in the society, if they are going to be seen as less healthy and desirable and it can cause great amount of stress.
Alopecia Areata and all its types are caused by autoimmune disorder, when immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, producing antibodies that cause stopping hair growth and making it to fall out. The size of patches can vary. It goes from nickel to quarter size. The hair around the patch is weak and easy to pull. The patches can sometimes be painful or you can have a burning feeling on that spot.
There has been a research that made scientists believe that it is genetically predetermined, so people who have someone in the family suffering from this condition are more likely to have it themselves. Patches appear very quickly. At first you might not even pay attention to it. Most people get worried later on when the patch gets bigger. Early detection gives you higher chance of growing your beard back. Some of the treatments available are:
• Daily application of a steroid cream on the beard patch or steroid injections every 4-6 weeks during a 6 months period. There is an adverse effect of steroids – it can cause permanent beard patch and skin sensitivity, since it becomes thin and vulnerable. • 5% Minoxidil to stimulate hair growth. It can help in some cases, but there is not a high percentage rate of regrowth rate with Areata Barbae cases. • Third option is a combination of the previous two, since it appears that Minoxidil increases the action of the steroids.
Some people tend to use natural treatments in hope that they are going to resolve the problem, without the side-effects. Use of essential oils has showed significant success rate with people with this condition. The mixture consists of thyme, rosemary, lavender, and cedarwood essential oils in a mixture of carrier oils (jojoba and grapeseed). There were no side effects after the application of the essential oils, but there are some people that might have allergic reactions to it.
Onion Juice can also help and there was significant improvement with the people who used it. Success rate was even bigger among males. There are many treatments on the market, conventional and unconventional. It’s important not to choose the treatment yourself, but to ask for professional help and advice from your doctor, who will give you the best one for you, just be sure to follow the instructions he gives you.
Marbo Hair is a very popular supplement for people looking for a natural Alopecia Cure. This product can be effectively used for loss of all body and facial hair. Using regularly Marbo Activator stimulates new hair growth on thinning scalp and bald regions, while your hair becomes firmer and healthier.

How to Solve Hair Loss Problem

How to Solve Hair Loss Problem
Alopecia areata is the partial or complete hair loss from areas on the body that usually grow hair. Your hair tends to fall out quicker than you can regrow it. The most common form of alopecia areata is termed male-pattern baldness where the middle of the scalp gradually goes bald with only a circling fringe of hair left. In women, Alopecia occurs as thinning of hair all over the scalp. Some types are temporary like hair loss following pregnancy and menopause and do not require treatment. Permanent hair loss causes a negative self-image and needs treatment to be reversed.
Although most autoimmune diseases are incurable, there are many medications and treatment methods that can use to negate the effects and control the disease. As Alopecia Areata is caused by immune cells accumulating at the hair follicles, treatments that suppress and subdue these cells will theoretically reverse the condition.
There are numerous alopecia treatments . It is up to you to find the right one with the help of a health professional. Essential oils of cedarwood, lavender, rosemary and thyme can promote hair growth. Essential oils can be toxic and irritating to the skin so you have to use them in carrier oil.
Many doctors treat alopecia areata with minoxidil. An alternative to minoxidil is diphencyprone (DPC), a chemical also used in developing film. Workers that were developing films for a longer period found that it caused hair to sprout in unwanted places if they failed to wash after using it. While DCP is not a prescription drug, it is in no way a natural treatment, and applying it requires the use of protective garments and special ventilation under professional supervision. Minoxidil is a topical medication that the FDA has approved to treat alopecia areata. It stimulates hair growth within six months. It helps stop balding and reverses some of the changes in the hair follicles. It takes several weeks to notice the results. Side effects include scalp dryness, itchiness or scaling. Minoxidil must be used continuously in order to maintain the results.
In the case you have tried all the conventional hair loss treatments and they do not bring results, maybe you should consider hair transplantation. It is a form of surgery and is a permanent treatment. The doctor numbs the area with a local anesthesia. He then removes small plugs containing hair, skin and underlying tissue. These plugs are carefully transplanted to the balding area. The main complication of this treatment is the possibility of the hair transplants not looking natural.
Marbo Lotion quickly stops hair loss regardless of its cause. This product is very easy to use. It gives even better results when used Marbo Shampoo 03. The use is recommended in case of different scalp problems: dandruff, oily hair, seborrhoeic dermatitis, scalp itching, thin and weak hair, hair loss for hormone imbalance (problems with thyroid gland, cystic ovaries, pregnancy), occasional seasonal hair loss, cytostatic therapy and radiation and for hair damaged by chemical treatments.

Cicatricial Alopecia

A lot of people can be observed with balding spots or receding hairlines, only the causes can be different, such as heredity or alopecia. They could be using the wrong hair care product or there is a problem with their diet. People who are undergoing certain medical treatments like chemotherapy are also observed to have alopecia areata symptoms. Most of these hair loss condition signs are treatable. Once the cause is removed from their system, the hair grows back. You too could be practicing an unhealthy habit which could lead to hair loss. If you are not sure, there are some signs of alopecia that you need to watch out in order to stop it.

Heredity is a factor which is beyond our control. These cases are all considered to be androgenetic alopecia. It is also referred to as common baldness, male pattern baldness, and female pattern baldness. Genetics determine the severity of hair loss and age at which this type of hair loss sets in. It is estimated that this type of hair loss accounts for approximately 95-98% of all cases.

Hair loss is not contagious and it does not cause physical disability. It is not a serious disease in medical terms, but it can be a very stressful condition because of its negative aesthetic impact. Alopecia can induce some psychological consequences such as anxiety and depression, since it can affect self-image and identity of the person. Lately, hair loss has become a common issue not only among men but among ladies too. Hair loss is generator of great anxiety for many, directly affecting their self-esteem and resulting feelings of psychological and emotional humiliation.

Certain medications can cause or contribute to an increase in hair loss. Most people are aware that chemotherapy can cause hair loss, but there are many other drugs that can as well. The use of natural hair care products alone can promote healthy growth of the hair. Hair roots are actually alive and just as like any other organs found in our body, they require nourishment in order to sustain their normal functioning. There are several alopecia areata treatments, but people usually tend to use the natural ones first, in order to avoid possible side - effects, since with the natural treatments there are not any, in opposed to the more invasive ones.

Natural hair products that are utilized to promote total health of the hair are virtually free of any side effects and are tested through times that have been handed down by generations. Shampoo against hair loss contains herbal ingredients from different medicinal herbs. Active ingredients full of vitamins and mineral salts stimulate local circulation and hair root renewal. Sage and rosemary extracts regulate sebum secretion, prevent scalp greasing and soothe scalp itching and irritation. The results demonstrate that Marbo Activator is one of the most effective natural hair care products for growing new hair and that its effect is the fastest when applied together with Lotion and Shampoo. The Marbo Hair products earned patients' trust because of their quality and effects.

Cicatricial Alopecia

Cicatricial Alopecia
Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disease. The course of alopecia areata is highly unpredictable, and the uncertainty of what will happen next is probably the most difficult and frustrating aspect of the disease. You may continue to lose hair, or your hair loss may stop. One of the Alopecia Areata types is Cicatricial alopecia.
Cicatricial Alopecia is the generic term applied to alopecia, followed by destruction of hair follicles: by disease affecting the follicles or by some process external to them. The follicles may be absent as the result of a developmental defect or may be irretrievably injured by trauma. The hair loss is usually gradual, without symptoms, and can be unnoticed for long periods. Some people experience hair loss with progressive symptoms such as itching, burning and pain. The inflammation that destroys the follicle is located below the surface of the skin and there is usually no "scar" seen on the scalp. Affected areas of the scalp may show little signs of inflammation.
It refers to a group of rare skin diseases in which hair follicle get destroyed and replaced by scar tissue. It is one of the rare causes of hair loss. Hair loss could be gradual or sudden. Hair loss could be without any symptoms or it could present with sever itching, burning and pain. There is usually no visible scar, because the inflammation is below the level of skin. Cicatricial Alopecia could occur in otherwise healthy men and women of all ages.
There are two known types of cicatricial alopecias classified as primary Cicatricial alopecias or secondary Cicatricial alopecias. For primary cicatricial alopecias in the hair follicle is the target of the destructive inflammatory process. In secondary cicatricial alopecias, destruction of the hair follicle is an "accidental" non-follicle-directed process or external injury, such as severe infections, burns, radiation, or tumors.
Primary cicatricial alopecias are further classified by the type of inflammatory cells that destroy the hair follicle during the active stage of the disease. The inflammation may predominantly involve lymphocytes or neutrophils. Cicatricial alopecias that predominantly involve lymphocytic inflammation include lichen planopilaris, frontal fibrosing alopecia, chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus, central centrifugal alopecia, pseudopelade (Brocq), alopecia mucinosa, and keratosis follicularis spinulosa decalvans.
There are a large number of hair loss products out there that claim to help men deal with hair loss. For scarring alopecias with inflammation of mostly neutrophils or a mixture of cells, the typical treatment involves antibiotics and isotretinoin. Drugs like methotrexate, tacrolimus, cyclosporin, and even thalidomide have been used to treat some forms. You should make sure you do some research before you decide which one to use.
Herbal shampoos for natural hair care have several advantages over commercial ones: they are easy to procure, inexpensive, and safe since they are natural and have no side effects. Marbo Hair is one of the products that is 100 % natural. This product can be effectively used for loss of all body and facial hair. Using regularly Marbo Lotion and Marbo Shampoo stimulates new hair growth on thinning scalp and bald regions, while your hair becomes firmer and healthier.

PUVA Treatment

PUVA is a photo chemotherapy that involves a topical or oral application of psoralen plus followed by a measured dose of ultraviolet radiation. Psoralen plus is found in many plants and contains a chemical 8-methoxypsoralen or 8 MOP - sensitive to ultraviolet rays. It enhances the effect of the ultraviolet rays on the skin by making the skin photosensitive. Prior to its application in alopecia areata PUVA was used for treating skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis and pruritis or itching.
Choosing the proper dose for PUVA is similar to the procedure followed with UVB. The physician can choose a dose based on the patient's skin type. It often happens that a small area of the patient's skin will be exposed to UVA after ingestion of psoralen. The dose of UVA that produces redness 72 hours later - called the minimum phototoxic dose (MPD), becomes the starting dose for treatment. PUVA therapy has shown the following effects:
- It reduces the fraction of circulating helper T-cells in psoriatic patients. - It depresses the number of circulating E rosette forming cells in psoriatic patients and controls. - It may prevent attack on the hair follicles by the immune system by depleting the number of Langerhan's cells. - It induces suppressor T cells in mice. - It has been to known to stimulate the dopa negative melanocytes in the outer root sheath to divide and multiply.
By its photo immunologic effect on T cells, PUVA may be a good alopecia therapy. Increasing evidence indicates an important role of melanocytes in alopecia areata. A typical PUVA session consists of an oral or topical administration of psoralen plus and two hours later, irradiation to UVA rays. UVA is a broad spectrum, high intensity artificially sourced radiation. Significant finding of the studies was the high relapse rate of 30% to 40% cases when PUVA treatment was discontinued. The reason for high relapse rates is not known, the current belief being that the new hair growth prevents the UVA rays penetrating the skin. Technical improvements such as comb emitting UVA failed to show any significantly better response.
Several studies showed that there was no significant difference in response between patients having different types of alopecia areata. Due to UVA irradiation, side effect posing the greatest risk to PUVA patients is the threat of various types of skin cancer, especially, potentially fatal melanoma. That's the reason why post treatment monitoring of PUVA patients is very important. Nausea is the most prominent side effect reported, but there are others as well: skin darkening, sunburns called photoxic erythema, skin ageing, headache and dizziness, itching and redness of the skin.
PUVA is unsuitable for long-term therapy, because of the risk of cancer. Several studies have cast a doubt on their long-term efficacy. However, PUVA may have a role in alopecia areata management.
Marbo Shampoo against hair loss contains herbal ingredients from different medicinal herbs. Active ingredients full of vitamins and mineral salts stimulate local circulation and hair root renewal. Sage and rosemary extracts regulate sebum secretion, prevent scalp greasing and soothe scalp itching and irritation.

What are Scaring and Non-scarring Alopecia?

What are Scaring and Non-scarring Alopecia?
Alopecia is a general medical term used for all types of hair loss, localized or diffuse, from the scalp or any part of the body. They are generally divided into two groups: scarring (cicatricial) and non-scarring. Scarring alopecia is typically caused by inflammation that results in destruction of the hair follicle leading to irreversible hair loss. If the condition is treated early in the disease course, it is sometimes possible to regrow hair. Hair follicle destruction can be caused by fungal infection, chemicals such as hair relaxers, mechanical traction, and inflammatory disorders which include discoid lupus erythematosus, lichen planopilaris, dissecting cellulitis, tufted folliculitis, folliculitis decalvans, alopecia mucinosa, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, and acne keloidalis.
Non-scarring alopecia is more common than scarring alopecia and include male and female pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia), alopecia areata, telogen effluvium, and trichotillomania as well as other less common conditions. Sometimes diseases such as secondary syphilis, thyroid disease, and systemic lupus erythematosus can lead to non-scarring hair loss also. Non-scarring hair thinning can also occur with natural aging, which is known as senescent alopecia.
Androgenetic alopecia is the most common type of hair loss. It is inherited in a complex manner from parents. Androgens are hormones including testosterone that are present in both males and females. They also play an important role in the development of pattern hair loss. Even though increased androgen activity leads to hair loss, the majority of males and females with pattern hair loss do not have abnormal levels of testosterone. For males, the pattern typically involves loss of the frontal hairline with or without hair loss at the top of the scalp and may or may not progress over time.
For females, the pattern is more variable, but most often spares the frontal hairline and involves diffuse thinning of hair over the crown of the scalp, sparing the back. This again may or may not progress over time. It is important to note that this pattern of hair loss can be caused by an abnormal increase of androgens due to polycystic ovarian disease or less commonly due to a malignancy. These causes are usually associated with other symptoms such as abnormal periods. Testosterone and other hormone levels can be checked to aid in the diagnosis of these conditions. Treatment for androgenetic alopecia includes topical minoxidil solution or foam, finasteride pills by mouth, or hair transplant surgery.
Although hair can often grow back on its own in alopecia areata, there are treatments that may be helpful - topical steroids, corticosteroid injections into the skin are typically used first. Many other topical treatments can be used. You should make sure you do some research before you decide which one to use. There is a lot of product for natural hair care on the market today. Marbo Hair products consist of natural ingrediants. These products can be effectively used for loss of all body and facial hair. Using regularly Marbo Lotion and Marbo Shampoo stimulates new hair growth on thinning scalp and bald regions, while your hair becomes firmer and healthier.

How to Prevent Hair Loss?

How to Prevent Hair Loss?
Alopecia Alopecia is a disorder that affects the hair growth usually in two ways. The first way is when hair follicles get damaged and this affects the growth of hair. The second way is when the hair cycle is disturbed, either the growing period is shortened or the resting period is lengthened. Alopecia has been classified into different disorders that affect the hair in different manners. Alopecia areata is one type of disorder which results in hair being lost in patches.

Depending on the location and the severity of the attack, there are different types of alopecia:

- Diffuse Alopecia Areata- This is where hair is lost all over the scalp.
- Alopecia Areata Barbae- This is where it is confined to the beard.
- Alopecia Areata Universalis- This is where hair is lost all over the body including the scalp, eye brows, eye lashes, pubic hairs, nose hairs, etc.

Hair loss is a natural part of ageing, but now a worrying trend to note many men and women are experiencing this at a much earlier stage of their lives. So what could be done to prevent it? Hair loss is a problem which is affected by both internal and external conditions and thus if you want to get rid of hair loss problems you need to find out the cause for the same. If the problem is medical, follow up with a doctor to see if there are any medications that he can prescribe to help restore hair growth.

There are some things you can do to improve your overall health. Drink more water every day to help the body stay hydrated and help grow healthy hair. Consume additional protein daily. Hair is made from protein and hair growth responds well to the inclusion of lean animal proteins and other forms of healthy protein added to the diet. Reduce alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking to prevent thinning hair. Never color your hair more often than 6 to 8 weeks and for hair loss prevention, letting your hair turn naturally gray is the best thing you can do. Never stretch the hair by braiding very tightly and this can lead to significant hair loss as well. Add calcium in your diet is very important to strengthen the hair follicles and roots in the scalp. Manage stress - there are plenty of articles about the ways to suppress stress.

It is very important for you to begin treatment for your hair loss as soon as you notice that your strands are thinning. This will significantly increase your chances of getting your strands to grow back. If the follicles sit there for too long without strands, the follicles will lose their ability to function and the hair loss will become permanent.

Inflammation-Induced Hair Loss

The impact of certain skin diseases on the lives of those affected tends to be underestimated or even dismissed as simply a "cosmetic problem." Alopecia areata exemplifies such a condition, owing to its substantial disease burden and its often devastating effects on the patient's quality of life and self-esteem. Although alopecia is one of the most common autoimmune diseases, the pathobiology of this chronic, relapsing hair-loss disorder is not fully understood.
Alopecia is the most frequent cause of inflammation-induced hair loss, affecting an estimated 4.5 million people in the United States. Depending on ethnic background and area of the world, the prevalence of alopecia is 0.1 to 0.2%, with a calculated lifetime risk of 2%. Alopecia areata affects both children and adults and hair of all colors. Although the disorder is uncommon in children under 3 years of age, most patients are relatively young: up to 66% are younger than 30 years of age, and only 20% are older than 40 years of age. There is generally no gender predilection, but more men were found to be affected in one study involving a group of subjects who were 21 to 30 years of age. In a study of 226 Chinese patients with alopecia areata who were 16 years of age, the median age at onset was 10 years, and the male: female ratio was 1.4:1; the disorder was more severe in boys and in those with an onset in early childhood.
Although diagnosing alopecia areata is usually easy, treating it is not. Curative therapy does not exist, and there is a paucity of well-conducted, long-term, controlled trials evaluating therapy for alopecia areata and its effect on the quality of life. Given the often unsatisfactory results of current therapy, some clinicians rely on the high rate of spontaneous remission and will recommend a wig if remission does not occur. Still, limited but often helpful therapeutic options do exist for both acute and chronic, relapsing alopecia areata.
Like most other autoimmune diseases, alopecia areata is a chronically relapsing inflammatory disorder, which suggests a cyclic recurrence of disease-promoting events. Also, in the absence of a perifollicular infiltrate, there is no hair loss. The main therapeutic challenge is to reduce the already established inflammatory infiltrates and to prevent both recurrence and spread to previously unaffected hair follicles. Unfortunately, currently available therapies do not predictably and satisfactorily meet this challenge.
There are many hair loss treatments on the market, conventional and unconventional. It's important not to choose the treatment yourself, but to ask for professional help and advice from your doctor, who will give you the best one for you, just be sure to follow the instructions he gives you.
Marbo hair loss shampoo contains herbal ingredients from different medicinal herbs. Active ingredients full of vitamins and mineral salts stimulate local circulation and hair root renewal. Female Hair Loss

Female Hair Loss
It seems that female hair loss is manifesting more in young women today than ever before. Female hair loss is of course a very individual process, depending upon several individual factors. More often than not hair loss generally begins in thinning somewhere around the age of 50 and even later for some individuals, with more of a thinning of the hair at the crown and may not be a pattern that is recognizable as male pattern hair loss or alopecia.
When a woman recognizes hair loss, she may not know whether the hair loss is permanent. There are many different reasons for a hair loss in women, such as the use of birth control pills, illness and even pregnancy as they all have the possibility in contributing to sudden hair loss. However, it is possible that it is only temporary hair loss and there is a re-growth of hair, once a medication has been discontinued or changed.
Donning severe hairstyles that drag the hair can induce hair loss. These hairstyles cut off the blood flow to the hair follicles and cause the hairline to recede. There are certain medicines that can cause hair loss. Diuretics, anti-depressants and cancer chemotherapy agent can cause temporary hair loss. If you are diabetic and consume medication for this it is also recognized to cause female hair loss. You might have an unknown medical condition which could be the root cause of female hair loss.
The incidence of female hair loss is much higher than most people think. Most women at one time or another in their life will experience hair loss. For many women the hair loss is marked by dramatic thinning of the hair. In other cases female hair loss can be a side -effect of changes in hormonal function and levels that occur at various stages of their life. Two examples are post-partum hair loss and post-menopausal hair loss. It is estimated that hair loss in women after menopause runs at approximately 50%. Hair loss in females is of two kinds in the non-genetic hair loss sector and that is anagen effluvium and telogen effluvium .
The emotional repercussions of loss of hair in women are often as overwhelming as the noticeable physical implications. For men, baldness is viewed as an unavoidable path, particularly if they've hereditary characteristics that make them predisposed. But for women, you will find so many elements that they by no means thought would result in them losing their hair. Hormone fluctuations are high on the list, but stress and anxiety also play a major role in hair thinning for some ladies. There can also be a genetic component that may trigger female baldness. It's with this in mind, that the scientific developments to stop female hair loss are being watched with bated breath by women across the globe.
There are many treatments for hair loss, but only Natural Hair Care products don't have side-effects. Marbo Hair Lotion has 100% natural ingredients. It quickly stops hair loss regardless of its cause. This product is very easy to use and expect fast results.

Hair Loss as a Major Problem

Hair Loss as a Major Problem
Hair is an important part of our identity. The time that you discover that whenever you comb or brush your hair, you notice that you lose more strands than usual can be extremely stressful. Then you look into the mirror and discover that you have a receding hair line or patches on your scalp that are visible due to your hair thinning out. The best thing to do to stop hair loss is use a natural hair care product. Scientists do not know exactly why the hair follicles undergo these changes that cause hair loss, but they suspect that a combination of genes may predispose some people to the disease. In those who are genetically predisposed, some type of a trigger—perhaps a virus or something in the person’s environment—initiates the attack of the immune system against the hair follicles.
Common causes of hair loss are:
- Alopecia areata, a non-scarring alopecia, is thought to be an autoimmune disease and is characterized by distinct, localized, sharply marginated areas of hair loss. This characteristically spontaneously remits but occasionally can result in the loss of 100% of all body hair. - Female-pattern baldness is very similar to its male counterpart although it is rarely as complete, more diffuse, and often a frontal hairline is maintained. - Male-pattern baldness, a non-scarring alopecia (androgenetic alopecia), that is genetically determined. In afflicted post pubertal individuals, hair follicles in the center of the scalp and over the temple begin to miniaturize, producing small, fine hairs which are difficult to see. This process is due to the metabolism of testosterone by an enzyme in the hair follicle. Generally, hair follicles over the ears and around the posterior of the scalp do not possess this enzyme so a fringe of normal hair is maintained. - Medications such as allopurinol (Zyloprim) and warfarin (Coumadin) - Poor nutrition.
Depending on the location and the severity of the attack, there are different types of alopecia areata :
- Diffuse Alopecia Areata- The hair is lost all over the scalp. - Alopecia Areata Barbae- Hais loss is confined to the beard. - Alopecia Areata Universalis- This is the case where hair is lost all over the body including the scalp, eye brows, eye lashes, nose hairs, etc.
You can try natural hair loss products as a treatment method. Their ingredients full of vitamins and mineral salts stimulate local circulation and hair root renewal. Inform Yourself About Cicatricial Alopecia

Inform Yourself About Cicatricial Alopecia
Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disease. The initial lesion is usually a totally bald, smooth patch. At its margins, hairs which appear normal may also be very readily extracted. Subsequent progress is variable. The course of alopecia areata is highly unpredictable, and the uncertainty of what will happen next is probably the most difficult and frustrating aspect of the disease. You may continue to lose hair, or your hair loss may stop. The hair you have lost may or may not grow back, and you may or may not continue to develop new bare patches.
One of the Alopecia Areata types is Cicatricial alopecia . It can be caused by a range of rare disorders related to the destruction of the hair follicle, which gets replaced by scar tissue which may lead to permanent hair loss.
There are two known types of cicatricial alopecias classified as primary Cicatricial alopecia or secondary Cicatricial alopecia. For primary cicatricial alopecia in the hair follicle is the target of the destructive inflammatory process. In secondary cicatricial alopecia, destruction of the hair follicle is an "accidental" non-follicle-directed process or external injury, such as severe infections, burns, radiation, or tumors.
Primary Cicatricial alopecia are further classified by the type of inflammatory cells that destroy the hair follicle during the active stage of the disease. The inflammation may predominantly involve lymphocytes or neutrophils. Cicatricial alopecia that predominantly involve lymphocytic inflammation include lichen planopilaris, frontal fibrosing alopecia, chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus, central centrifugal alopecia, pseudopelade (Brocq), alopecia mucinosa, and keratosis follicularis spinulosa decalvans.
The causes of the cicatricial alopecia are not completely known. However, all cicatricial alopecia involve inflammation directed at the hair follicle, the upper part of the follicle where the stem cells and sebaceous gland are located are generally involved. Permanent hair loss occurs when the stem cells and the sebaceous glands are destroyed. This type of hair loss is usually irreversible.
Sometimes the inflammation shifts from a predominantly neutrophilic process to a lymphocytic process. Cicatricial alopecia with a mixed inflammatory infiltrate include folliculitis keloidalis and erosive pustular dermatosis.

Nutritional Supplements That Can Help With Hair Growth

Nutritional Supplements That Can Help With Hair Growth

Alopecia is a malfunction of the immune system when the body begins to attack its own hair follicle. However it is very selective in which areas it attacks, so that circular / oval shaped bald patches develop. These are silky smooth to the touch, because all hair including vellus hair (soft downy hair) has been lost. Currently there is no medical explanation as to why the patches are selected in the manner in which they are. Accordingly there is no test that can be done to determine if the patches will stay contained in the given area or spread to another area.

One main hair loss solution is ability to have a proper nutritional diet that will produce much needed nutrients in our hair, eating foods rich in fiber, protein and vitamin C helps lessen the possibility of hair loss . Medical experts agree that hair loss occurs on individuals with certain deficiencies in some important nutrients. A healthy diet can be rightfully called as an effective hair loss solution.

You may be able to address nutritional deficiencies with the following supplements:

- A multivitamin daily, containing the antioxidant vitamins A, C, E, the B-complex vitamins, and trace minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, zinc, and selenium. - Omega-3 fatty acids, such as fish oil, 1-2 capsules or 1 tablespoonful of oil daily, to help decrease inflammation. Fish oils may increase bleeding in sensitive individuals, such as those taking blood thinning mediations (including aspirin). - Vitamin C, 500 - 1,000 mg 2 times daily, as an antioxidant. - L-lysine, 500 - 1,000 mg daily, for hair loss. - B-complex vitamins, 1 tablet daily, for symptoms of stress.

Following these nutritional tips may help reduce symptoms:

- Eat foods high in B-vitamins and iron, such as whole grains (if no allergy), dark leafy greens, and sea vegetables. - Eliminate potential food allergens, including dairy, wheat (gluten), corn, soy, preservatives, and food additives. Your health care provider may want to test you for food sensitivities. - Avoid refined foods such as white breads, pastas, and sugar. - Use healthy oils in foods, such as olive oil or vegetable oil. - Eat antioxidant foods, including fruits (such as blueberries, cherries, and tomatoes), and vegetables (such as squashes and peppers). - Eat fewer red meats and more lean meats, cold water fish, tofu (soy, if no allergy) or beans for protein. - Reduce or eliminate trans fatty acids, found in commercially baked goods such as cookies, crackers, cakes, French fries, onion rings, donuts, processed foods, and margarine. - Avoid coffee and other stimulants, alcohol, and tobacco. - Drink 6 - 8 glasses of filtered water daily. - Exercise at least 30 minutes daily, 5 days a week.

Fight Against Alopecia Areata

Fight Against Alopecia Areata

There are a variety of different reasons why men and women suffer from hair loss. If you are suffering from sudden hair loss you should see your doctor immediately. This could potentially be a sign of a serious medical condition. Hair loss also might be a side effect of taking a prescription drug. Hair loss is usually caused by hereditary factors. The term male pattern baldness is often used to describe this type of hair loss.

Alopecia research ranges from the most basic studies of the mechanisms of hair growth and hair loss in mice to testing medications and ways to apply medications to help regrow hair in people. Both the National Institutes of Health and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation support research into the disease and its treatment. There are some researches that are promising.

Development of an animal model is a critical first step toward understanding the disease, and much progress has been made. Researchers have identified an inbred strain of mice that spontaneously develops a condition similar to the adult-onset form of alopecia areata. This mouse model has already allowed researchers to identify some genetic factors that are involved in development of the disease. By studying mice with a disease similar to human alopecia areata, researchers hope to learn more about the mechanism of the disease and eventually develop immune system treatments for the disease in people.

Scientists are studying the possible genetic causes and mechanism of the disease both in families that have one or more people with the disease and in the general population, so they can map the genes that may be the cause of hair loss. An understanding of the genetics of the disorder will aid in disease prevention, early intervention, and development of specific therapies.

Studying hair follicle development in mouse embryos will help in gaining a better understanding of hair cycle biology that may lead to treatments for the underlying disease process.

Epithelial stem cells are immature cells that are responsible for regenerating and maintaining a variety of tissues, including the skin and the hair follicles. Stem cells in the follicle appear to be spared from injury in alopecia areata, which may explain why the potential for regrowth is always there in people with the disease. By studying the biology of these cells, scientists hope to gain a better understanding of factors that trigger the disease.

While there are proven drugs that help with the treatment of hair loss some people would rather not deal with the potential side effects of prescription drugs. There are many different natural options out there for people looking for alternatives. However, you should understand the causes of your hair loss before trying any of these hair loss products. You should consult a doctor if you’re experiencing hair shedding because it might be a sign of a more serious medical condition.
